    COUNTRY CORNERS(12) vs JUNIORS TOO(1)

    COUNTRY CORNERS

    Today was not our day.
    We didnt hit or field.
Everything seemed to go their way.
Juniors Too put up a first inning 5
spot and then it went downhill from
there. They even kicked the ball
around la Paul O Neill to get
    a Cornerman out at first.
We will try again next week.
Mark Battistoni and Bob Diggelmann had 2 hits.
    The rest of us didnt.
    Series tied 1-1

ONLINE RULES, IF DISCREPANCY, will review

Follow the USA SENIOR SOFTBALL RULE BOOK
    w/local exceptions stated below

    ASA Senior Rules LINK

    DSSL SENIOR SOFTBALL RULES
    1. Removal of alternate 3rd base. A player must tag from original 3rd base.
    2. Pinch Runner From Home. Each team is allowed one player to have a pinch runner from home. The player must be announced before the game begins. All runners must be announced to the HP umpire before stepping on the base. Once the runner steps on the base he is the official runner. Unless injured a pinch runner cannot be replaced.
    3. Pinch runner to be counted in maximum attempts(3). Starts six(6) feet behind home plate.
    4. Pinch runner cannot advance beyond 1st base unless the batter hits a homerun or a ground rule is violated on the play. Examples: Ground rule double or ball thrown out of play.
Dugouts - Out of play rule.
    1. DIGILIO-A ball goes into the dugout opening or hits equipment on the field side of the fence entitles the runners to advance one base.
    2. WHITESELL-On the outfield opening of the dugout the ball must go into the dugout to be out of play. On the home plate side of the dugout the out of play area extends to the backstop pole. Example: Bats are placed in the area. If a ball rolls over the invisible line the ball is out of play and runners advance one base.
    Players
    1. Tournaments bats may be used by any player 75 years or older in the current calendar year. All other bats must have USA(ASA) labels on the bat.
    2. Substitute Players: A player of equal or lesser rating can be used if a team has 10 or less players. You can substitute up to a maximum of 12 players. The substitute player must be on the waiting list or on a team with a BYE. A new player must be rated by the Chairman of the Ratings Committee and the Commissioner.
    3. Replacement Players: A player of equal or lesser rating can be used to replace a player who is out for an extended period of time. The player must be approved by the Commissioner.
    Runners
    1. Runners must avoid contact at all bases by sliding directly into a base or veering out of the way. If contact is made the runner is out and the play is dead. The umpire can call a double play if the contact prohibits the plays completion. All base runners not called out must return to the base previously occupied.
    GAME TIME
    1. Starting time is 9:30am unless the ground crew requests more time to prepare the fields. All managers must submit a batting order before game time.
    2. Any player not present for his turn at bat will be placed at the bottom of the order upon arrival.
    3. Batting practice begins NO LATER than 9:00am and finishes BEFORE 9:30am.
    4. li>If the home team has 8 players at game time, they can switch to visitors and bat thus allowing late players to be placed at the bottom of the order.
    5. All roster players upon arrival at the game are placed in the batting order. Each roster player must play a minimum of four(4) innings in the field within each game.
    PROTESTS
    1. PROTESTS must be submitted in writing (hand, email or text) to the Commissioner within 24 hours of the game time. The Commissioner will select 3 members of our Board (3) or Managers(5) which are not involved in the protested game to serve on the Protest Committee.
